Apprentice camp 2021
For our apprentices, the new apprenticeship year always begins with a highlight, the 2-day camp. On 19 August, the GIS apprentices in the professions of design engineer, polymechanic, production mechanic and commercial clerk went to a holiday home in the village of Flühli, near the cantonal border to Berne. Divided into groups, they dedicated themselves to constructing an entrance sign for the company premises, the main task that would accompany the camp participants over the next few days.
For a change, the eager collecting of ideas, sketching and working out was loosened up again and again by small competitions. For example, many Styrofoam deer had to fear for their lives in the 3D archery course in Sörenberg, and in the digital escape game, many a mission could be mastered in the best James Bond manner. The groups took turns preparing the meals, which earned one or the other amateur chef a lot of sympathy points.
After the razor-thin duels in boccia and bench football, one team was finally able to be celebrated as the overall winner of the camp.
After two eventful days, the participants returned to Schötz. In addition to many wonderful memories, they also had exciting suggestions for the plaque that will soon adorn the entrance area of the GIS company premises.
