Glossary
IP - protection class
The degree of protection designation is always shown by the letter pair IP appended by two digits. These indicate the degree of protection of a casing with regard to contact and foreign bodies (first digit) and moisture or water (second digit). You will find more details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code

ATEX
ATEX is a widely used synonym for the ATEXdirectives of the European Union. The term ATEX is derived from the French abbreviation for "ATmosphère EXplosibles". The directive currently includes two directives in the field of explosion protection, namely the ATEX product directive 2014/34 / EU and the ATEX operation directive 1999/92 / EC. GIS electric chain hoists provide protection against dust or gas and have barometric pressure and temperature monitoring in the casing. System errors lead to immediate interruption of operation (in case of gas intrusion or a pressure drop). Available for the zones 22 (D) and 2 (G).

Mechanism group
Electric chain hoists are classified into groups depending on the load and operating time (ISO4301-1). From these the theoretical useful life of the mechanical components located in the power drive and the drive unit (motor) is measured in full load hours.

Load spectrum
Depending on load type (light to heavy) in % of the operating time, electric chain hoists are divided into load ranges, which are needed for classification in the mechanism groups.

Contactor control
GIS electric chain hoists are fitted with a 42 V contactor control as standard. In the control switch, which controls the operating current (high voltage), only low voltage current flows.

Low-headroom version
The GIS electric chain hoist with chain deflection for obtaining lifting height. Suitable for particularly low ceilings.

Synchronised hoist
The GIS electric chain hoist with two load hooks for absolutely synchronous hoisting. Suitable for long and bulky loads.

Handy chain model
The GIS electric chain hoist for quick and effortless positioning of loads. The control unit is used to operate the chain hoist and simultaneously to guide the load with one hand.

Handy telescope model
The GIS electric chain hoist for quick and exact positioning of loads. The control unit is used to operate the chain hoist and simultaneously to guide the load with one hand. Suitable for eccentric loads.

Mobile slewing jib crane
A pillar slewing jib crane allows the handling of loads at different locations. By means of the lift truck the slewing jib crane can be moved from one location to another.

Pillar-mounted slewing jib crane
Slewing jib crane for mounting on the floor, on the ceiling or on a concrete base (mobile use). Slewing range depending on model from 270° to 360°.

Wall-mounted slewing jib crane
Slewing jib crane for mounting on walls or existing concrete columns. Slewing range from 180° to 270°.

Articulated slewing jib crane
Slewing jib crane with a maximum slewing range (from 270° to 330°) for load bearing of eccentric loads with GIS electric chain hoist, handy telescope model or to circumvent fixed obstacles within the workspace.

Ceiling-mounted slewing jib crane
Direct mounting of the slewing jib crane to the concrete ceiling or an existing steel structure. Slewing range from 270° to 360°.

Single bridge suspended crane
Suspended crane with a transverse bridge for standard crane Systems.

Double bridge suspended crane
Suspended crane with a double-cross bridge for heavy loads or larger span widths.

Low headroom bridge
To optimise the overall height the cross member (crane bridge) is built between the crane rails.

Saddle
Height optimization for double crane bridge with elevated electric chain hoist.

Bend
GISKB bends with 30° or 45° are used for flexible alignment while joining different workstations.

Slide switches
GISKB sliding switch points are used to connect two or more lines. They are adjustable mechanically or electrically.

Turntable
The GISKB turntable allows a 90° change of direction in a confined space. The rotation takes place mechanically or pneumatically.

Detached system
Instead of mounting to the ceiling or the roof structure the crane tracks and the crane bridge can be mounted on the longitudinal and transverse members of a supporting structure.

Electric tug
Electrically operated trolley with frequency converter - drive for GISKB hollow profiles.

Rolling apparatus
Manual trolley for GISKB hollow profiles.

High-pressure - vacuum device
In the high-pressure - vacuum device (Type GH) a high vacuum of about 80-90% is created in a deep volume flow. It is exclusively suitable for air-impermeable goods such as glass, metal, plastic or stone.

Low-pressure - vacuum device
In the low-pressure - vacuum device (Type GH) a high vacuum of about 30-90% is created in a deep volume flow. It is suitable both for airtight goods as well as for light air-permeable porous goods or goods such as wood panels or beams, concrete slabs or cardboard.

Ejector - vacuum device
The ejector - vacuum device works according to the Venturi principle and is a high - pressure vacuum device. It is suitable for the vertical transport of glass and other air-impermeable goods.

Turning device
GIS turning devices are vacuum - handling systems with which panels or doors can be infinitely turned 180°.

Vacuum-handling device
The hose - vacuum handling system sucks and lifts the load. It is used for repetitive, fast and stepless handling of cardboard, sacks, barrels, containers etc. up to 150 kg.

Shelf storage operation unit
GIS shelf storage operation units with vacuum unit or lifting device are used for the efficient storage and retrieval of panels and other goods in and out of shelves.

Roving pendent
The roving pendent allows moving the control switch independently of the cargo in a C-rail which is guided parallel to the crane track.

Frequency inverter
A frequency inverter changes the mains frequency to a voltage with a different frequency. This enables a soft start for travelling or lifting movements.

Radio remote control
Radio remote control for wireless operation of all hoisting and other movements.

Trailing cable
Power supply via cable car in the GISKB hollow profile.

C-rail with trailing cable
Power supply via cable trolley in the C-rail.

Conductor line
Power supply via conductor line as an alternative to trailing cables.

Energy chain
Power supply of electricity and compressed air in a cable duct.
